Mid-July is always hot and dry in
Texas, the No. 1 state for cows
and calves in the U.S. But this

reported the driest 30 days in the state in
ƚŚĞƉĂƐƚϭϬϬLJĞĂƌƐʹƚŚĞƉƌĞǀŝŽƵƐƌĞĐŽƌĚ
was set in the middle of the Dust Bowl.
EĂƟŽŶǁŝĚĞ͕ϳϮйŽĨƉĂƐƚƵƌĞĂŶĚƌĂŶŐĞ
ĐŽŶĚŝƟŽŶƐǁĞƌĞƌĂƚĞĚĨĂŝƌƚŽǀĞƌLJƉŽŽƌ
for the week ending July 10.
This is not good news for the rendering
ŝŶĚƵƐƚƌLJĞŝƚŚĞƌ͕ĐŽŶƐŝĚĞƌŝŶŐĐĂƩůĞŶƵŵďĞƌƐ

Extension, total cow slaughter is up
